Acupuncture & Chinese Massage
My name is Anneli Engberg and I am a Traditional Acupuncturist & Chinese Massage Therapist who has been in private practice for over thirty years. I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council & adhere to its strict Codes of Practice and Ethics.
Mostly I treat with a combination of Acupuncture & Chinese Massage, but for those who prefer I will do one or the other. The principles of both are the same; to simulate the body's own healing responses & restore its natural balance as far as it is possible.
My particular interests lie in working together with a client and as well as giving treatment, exploring what can be done to further help with the recovey. This may involve looking at dietary habits, posture, stretching exercises & how to reduce stress (for example). It all depends what is possible & practical for each individual.
Each person is unique, even if the symptoms are similar. The 'integrated' approach to acupuncture (TCM & Five Element) is done from a belief that an acupuncture practitioner is best equipped to treat someone if they understand both the illness & the nature of the person that is suffering the illness.
Chinese Medicine has its own methods of diagnosis and treatment through balancing, cleansing and strengthening the body's vital energy systems. As our health starts improving our symptoms reduce in intensity. Acupuncture is suitable for all ages and can be used alongside conventional medicine.

Progressive Counselling can help a person see and choose which way to go in their life, whether this is about relationships, decisions, illness or any other pressing issues. A Progressive Counsellor will not 'delve' unnecessarily into a person's past or ask the person to look at past issues unless they are ready and willing to do so. Progressive Counselling is about dealing with the here and now and moving forward from now in a more sustainable way. Life patterns and habits that a client wishes to change can be addressed at their own request and at the right time.
Partnerships, family, bereavement, career and business relationships are all situations that can be worked with in counselling, either individually or together with those involved.
Progressive Counselling is very much about empowering someone to take a healthy charge of their own life. It is often complemented with Natural Energy Therapy.

Through an initial consultation I will aim to understand your symptoms and needs, before prescribing suitable homeopathic remedies. Holistic Remedial Massage Therapy
I am a Sports Massage Practitioner, Natural Energy Therapist, Psychotherapist, Life Coach, Personal Trainer, Rehabilitation Exercise Therapist and Lecturer. This gives me a wide scope of practice and the ability to provide treatments tailored to what you need.
My career in Therapy began 27 years ago when I first began practicing as a Sports Massage Practitioner. I progressed from clinical practice into establishing GP referral schemes in the Southwest. Here patients with long term injuries or illness could receive the support, advice, treatment and exercise they needed to aid their recovery or transistion to living with life altering illnesses or injuries.
I later branched into teaching as a lecturer with a leading Health and Fitness Training Company, sharing what I had learned from my 10 years in the industry. For 8 years I taught Sports Massage, Fitness and Personal Training courses until I established LifeCare Health, a place where I could bring everything together into a single facility.
